QUT TECH SHOWCASE

An exclusive program for secondary school students to celebrate National Science Week.

Headlining the program is Dr. Sarah Jane Pell (artist-astronaut), Dr. Chris Lehnert (QUT), Jon Carroll (Director of Prototypes, Sphero), and Pepper, the first humanoid robot capable of recognising and adapting its behaviour to human emotions! Sarah Jane will discuss her work in Human-Computer Interaction Design and Interactivity, across summit, sea, and space, while Chris will discuss his work with 'Harvey', the robotic capsicum harvester. Students will also have the chance to meet Pepper and learn about QUT's social robotics research study.

After the presentations, students can tinker and engage at QUT's Tech Showcase featuring NAO robots, littleBits, and MaKey MaKey, as well as SPRK+ with Sphero’s Director of Prototypes!

Note: Students must be accompanied by a teacher.

This event is in association with Robotronica.
