Jason Nelson

Born in Oklahoma, Jason Nelson stumbled into creating awkward and wondrous digital poems and net-artworks of odd lives, building confounding art games and all manner of curious digital creatures. He professes Net Art and Electronic Literature at Griffith University and has exhibited widely in galleries and journals, with work featured around the globe at FILE, ACM, LEA, ISEA, SIGGRAPH and ELO, to name a few.

During his residency, Jason's project Lexical Creatures will explore The Cube's innovative technology as a site of play, of whimsy and wonderment, of unexpected surprise and engagement. This concept of play encapsulates his creative practice of interactive literature. Using game interfaces (and others) and The Cube's unique screenscape, Jason will create literary games, each showcasing and innovating within different forms of interaction and literary transformation.

Throughout his residency Jason will be a regular visitor to The Cube and welcomes your observation, conversation and interaction.
